- David Hill Review added: 2018.10.13★ ★ ★ ★ ★Better known as "Elsie's", this country pub hasn't changed since the 1930s. Dear old Elsie is long gone, but the present owners have continued to run it the way it has always been. There is only one beer (the locally brewed Larkins), no food (except crisps), no till and no larger. The small public bar is full of friendly locals and their dogs, believe me if you are near Cowden Pound pop in for a pint, it really is an experience.
